Results of IKT Board Elections

We are delighted to announce the results of the recent IKT board elections. The election saw a strong turnout, with approximately 30% of our active members casting their votes.

We are pleased to welcome Scott McLeod and Guadalupe García as the newly elected board members. Both bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to the board, and we are excited about the contributions they will make. A heartfelt thank you to all the candidates for their participation!

Meet Our New Board Members

Scott McLeod

Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art,
Director / Curator

Toronto, Canada

Scott McLeod is a curator, writer, editor and administrator. For the past twenty-five years, he has served in various capacities at Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, a registered charitable organization that fosters the appreciation and understanding of photo, media and digital art. Currently director and curator, he was also, for twenty years, the editor and publisher of Prefix Photo magazine and, for fifteen years, the co-programmer of the Urban Field Speakers Series, an international lecture series that explores the intersections between art, architecture and urbanism.

In 2020, he founded the Prefix Prize in order to support under-recognized photographic artists with an exhibition, publication and cash award. A member of AICA Canada, he lives and works in Toronto.

Guadalupe García

Mexico City, Mexico

Guadalupe García is an Art Historian and Curator born in Mexico City where she currently lives. She held positions as Curator and Assistant Director at the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Director of Exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Arte, the two most important public museums in Mexico.

She spent eight years in Miami where she served as Curator of the Collection at the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami, deepening her experience in the American museum system. Additionally, her studies at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City further expanded her insights into the international art landscape, encompassing aspects of creation, exhibition, and collecting in today’s art world.

Driven by her diverse professional experiences and a profound social and spiritual vision, Guadalupe García founded The Ant Project, a non-profit organization inspired by the collective intelligence of ants. This initiative is focused on interconnecting artists, curators, and content creators horizontally to develop projects and create a community based on the value of collective interaction. Founded in 2017, The Ant Project has hosted numerous in-person and virtual workshops and exhibitions in Mexico and Miami, showcasing the work of over twenty artists on its platform. In 2023 she launched The Ant Project artist and curator residency in her space in Coyocán, Mexico City, furthering her commitment to artistic and communal growth.
